This list will help you to understand why you’re having the packaging created and who it’s being designed for, as well as the nitty gritty behind-the-scenes logistics! So, here are our top 5 things to know:
What’s The Packaging For?
It might sound basic, but the only reason you need packaging is because you have a product (unless of course you’re as passionate about packaging as we are and you just want empty PAKs to put on your desk). The product might be big, it might be small, it might be part of a group of products or maybe it’s a stand-alone issue. Either way, you need to know what it is, how big it is, and how many parts there are.
Who Is The Product For?
Whoever you’re aiming the product at, that’s who you should design the packaging for. Because your customer is unlikely to be able to access the product itself, you need to make the packaging irresistible.
What Is Your Brand All About?
Your packaging should encapsulate your brand, are you all about sustainability, or luxury, or local? No matter what your brand encompasses, it’s important to get every element of your packaging aligned to that message. If it’s eco, use eco materials; if it’s luxury make sure the materials are layered and thick; if it’s local make sure the materials are locally sourced.
When Do You Need It For?
Make sure you know when you need your packaging by – if you know your deadlines that means we can get your packaging to you for when you need it. This also helps with planning the logistics of the project, we can give a more accurate timeline if we know a) how intricate the product is and b) when you need it for.
